Ali Larijani held his fourth official meeting with Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad, where the two officials discussed the future of Iran-Pakistan relations and major regional developments.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif welcomed Iranian officials and emphasized the importance of the historic and brotherly relationship between the two neighboring countries, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office. He called for deeper and broader cooperation across multiple sectors.
Mr. Larijani stressed the need to expand mutually beneficial cooperation between Pakistan and Iran and underlined the positive trajectory of bilateral relations.
During the meeting, both sides reviewed key regional and international trends and emphasized the importance of concerted efforts to strengthen peace and stability across the region.
The Pakistani Prime Minister expressed appreciation for Iran’s principled stand on regional issues and expressed gratitude for Iran’s solidarity with Pakistan during difficult times. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to work closely with Iran to ensure a peaceful and prosperous future for both countries.
Foreign Minister Sharif also conveyed his deep respect and warm wishes to Islamic Revolution leader Ayatollah Khamenei and Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian, and expressed his gratitude for their support for Pakistan and efforts to strengthen bilateral relations.
Larijani expressed his gratitude to the Pakistani people and officials for their unwavering support to Iran during the recent 12-day conflict sparked by Israeli attacks. He also praised Pakistan’s constructive role in supporting dialogue and diplomacy towards a peaceful resolution of the conflict.
