Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagh Galibahu, on the sidelines of the 11th BRICS Parliament Forum, held at the National Parliament Palace in Brasilia from June 3-5, met with the Speaker of the House of Representatives of India, Om Birla, and held consultations.
During the meeting, the two discussed bilateral relations, which are recent regional and international developments, highlighting the use of both countries’ common capabilities for the development of interaction.
The Iranian chairman pointed out the historical and cultural commonalities between the two countries, noting that Iran and India can gain much greater interaction and cooperation with each other.
Referring to the role played by Iran and India in the region, he noted that both countries enjoy high potential and capabilities to strengthen parliamentary cooperation.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the Iranian chairman pointed to the financial and financial capabilities of the BRICS Group in an emerging economy, noting that strengthening mechanisms such as BRICS Pay can continue, and that both countries can use the national currency for transactions.
Iran sees India as three strategic partners along with China and Russia, and is determined to expand its economic ties with India, Garribach stressed.
The Speaker of the Indian Parliament pointed to the historical and civilized relations between Iran and India, expressing his hope that cooperation between the two countries will increase significantly in the future.
India will make every effort to establish close ties between the two countries, Birla emphasized.
The world order must be based on law and mutual cooperation, he said, “I hope that the political, economic and social interaction between Iran and India will provide new opportunities for both countries.”
