Speaking to reporters at Monday’s weekly press conference, Esmaeir Bakaei expressed concern over recent reports of violence and anxiety that have been unfolding in Syria.
He noted that Iran is communicating concerns to influential countries in an appropriate way.
“We assert such measures. Any murder or conduct against civilians will be condemned and unjustified,” he said.
The spokesman said the act of violations against a group of Syrian Alawians hurts the feelings of conscientious people.
Bakaei said the new rulers of Syria are facing a real test of their responsibility to protect the lives of Syrian citizens.
He warned that such violent measures would only complicate the political situation in Syria.
Syrian interim government sent reinforcements to coastal cities in the country’s northwestern coastal cities, engaged in fierce fighting against fighters loyal to former President Bashar al-Assad.
The violence reportedly killed hundreds of people, including many civilians.
Sana, a Syrian state news agency, quoted unidentified security officials saying many people went to coastal areas after the attack in search of revenge for attacks on government security forces.
