Tehran-Tehran Symphony Orchestra (TSO) will be performing its first spring concert at Vahdat Hall in Tehran on April 16th.
Nasir Heydarian will hold a concert entitled “Color Whirl,” in which the orchestra performs works by famous 19th and 20th centuries composers, Ilna reported.
The repertoire includes French composer and organist Gabriel Faure, Austrian composer of Light Music Johann Strauss, Hungarian composer and pianist Bella Bartok, and Russian composer Mikhail Glinka.
Born in Tehran, Nasir Heidarian studied orchestra conducting at the Austrian College of Music, Arts and Arts. He has a wealth of careers working together as a conductor with Glaz Opera, Basel Symphony Orchestra, Zurich Opera, Bon Opera, Bonn’s Beethoven Hall Orchestra, Munich Chamber Orchestra, Venezuelan Youth Orchestra, World Youth Orchestra, and many other ensembles.
Heidarian previously worked as a trombone player for the Tehran Symphony Orchestra. He was selected as a conductor of TSO in August 2022.
Founded in 1933, the Tehran Symphony Orchestra is Iran’s oldest and largest symphony orchestra. It was founded in 1946 as a municipal symphony orchestra by Gholamhossein Minbashian before entering modern form under Parviz Mahmoud.
Over the next few years, conductors such as Rubik (Ruben) Gregorian, Morteza Hannane, Heymo Teuber, Heshmato Sanjali, Farhad Meshkat and Ferredun Nasseri took over as conductors of the orchestra.
TSO, which performed works by acclaimed Iranian and international composers, held 22 concerts at Vahdat Hall last year.
