TEHRAN – Tehran’s UN ambassador condemned the inflammatory remarks made by Donald Trump and his senior officials against Iran, saying Washington’s accusations against the Islamic Republic regarding Yemen are completely “basically unfounded.”
Amir Said Irabani made his comment on Monday in a letter to the UN Secretary-General and the President of the UN Security Council.
“I would like to express deep concern and clear condemnation of recent belligerent statements by senior US administration officials, including the US President, who have desperately tried to justify the US attacks and war crimes against Yemen.
US President Donald Trump has declared Iran will directly hold him accountable for future attacks by Yemen, targeting Israeli ships.
Trump wrote about the Social Post of Truth, “Every shot fired by the Housis will be considered from this point on as shots fired from Iran’s weapons and leadership, Iran will be responsible and suffering from consequences, and those consequences are miserable!”
Iranian diplomats said Yemeni forces are operating independently in decision-making and action, and their operations are being carried out to support Gaza.
Irabani warned that attacks against Iran would have “severe consequences.”

Your Honor,
I will explain more from my government and in a letter dated February 11th, 2025 (s/2025/89). I would like to express deep concern and clear condemnation of recent warring statements by senior officials in the US administration, including the US President. They openly threaten the use of force against Iran and Iran. Such inflammatory rhetoric constitutes a blatant violation of international law and the fundamental principles of the UN Charter, particularly Article 2(4). This prohibits the use of threats or force against sovereign states.
In light of these serious violations, the Islamic Republic of Iran firmly rejects and condemns these reckless and provocative statements. Iran is calling on the Security Council to take a clear and principled stance on condemning such an inflammatory statement, calling the United States complying with its obligations under the UN Charter. As we have repeatedly emphasized, normalizing the threat of force sets dangerous precedents and poses serious risks to international peace and security. The Security Council should not remain silent in the face of such blatant provocation.
While committing to its obligations for international peace and security, the Islamic Republic of Iran firmly defends its sovereignty, territorial integrity and national interests under international law against hostile actions. Iran’s Islamic Republic warns that the act of the attack will have serious consequences, and the United States is fully responsible.
Iran’s Islamic Republic has explicitly condemned the recent military attacks and illegal use of force by the US and the UK against Yemen. These actions seriously violate Yemen’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, violating international law, the UN Charter and related Security Council resolutions, thereby pose a serious threat to regional peace and stability.
As a responsible member of the international community, the Islamic Republic of Iran consistently complies with obligations under international law, supporting maritime security and freedom of navigation. The Islamic Republic of Iran has never been involved in activities that contradict the provisions of the relevant Security Council resolutions on Yemen. As a result, Iran strongly rejects charges for violations of the arms embargo in Yemen or related Security Council resolutions regarding involvement in regional voluntary activities. I would like to once again emphasize that Ansarrah and Yemeni authorities operate independently in their decision-making and actions. They argue that their operations are being carried out in response to a violation of Yemen’s sovereignty and territorial integrity in support of the people of Gaza.
We also use this opportunity to decisively reject false and unfounded accusations made by Iranian representatives against the Islamic Republic in relation to Yemen by Britain and France, which accused Britain and France of accusing the precarious activities in the region during the open briefing of the Security Council on March 6, 2025. These allegations are completely unfounded and unreliable. Iran orders Israel to hold responsibility and be safe, and concludes its orders, as a deliberate and calculated attempt by these three states to distract attention from their own accomplices and war crimes committed by the Israeli regime against Gaza and other states in the region, and as a failure as a permanent resident of the Security Council.
If you distribute your current letters as Security Council documents, I should be grateful.
My best considerations, please accept His Excellency.
