Tehran – A new mural in Tehran’s Palestinian Square, featuring images of anti-Israel paintings by Australian artist Scott Marsh, highlights the light-form of the Palestinians and reveals the true face of Zionism.
The painting previously appeared on the walls of a building in Sydney, Australia, but is now an anti-Israel theme that conveys solidarity between Iran and oppressed countries around the world.
In his recent artwork, Marsh portrays Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of the Zionist regime, wearing a military-style uniform with an armband of an Israeli flag. In the background, the burning and bombed cities clearly hint at the destruction caused by Israeli attacks on Gaza.
The uniformity, attitude, and overall aesthetics of the portrait strongly resemble the image of propaganda in Nazi Germany, where Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party ruled the country, subtly attracting a disturbing visual parallel between past fascist regimes and current Zionion leadership actions. This visual message is strongly in line with the tone, courage and political commentary found in Scott Marsh’s work.
Scott Marsh is a well-known Australian street artist known for his large, political and provocative murals. His work combines sharp satire, social critique and a quick response to current events. Starting with graffiti, Marsh gradually evolved into a public artist with a strong social message.
Marsh usually chooses themes that resonate with public sentiment and controversy. He thinks that street art isn’t necessarily about changing minds, but about reflecting what people already feel. Due to the controversial nature of his work, he often continues to anonymize to avoid threats and vandalism.
Sharing this recent work on his Instagram feed, the artist wrote: “History doesn’t repeat itself, but it often rhymes. I’ve said that my work exists on the streets, but I’ve said that I find an audience online. But during the years of community, my work was taken away.
“As this doesn’t stop me, I’m forced to think creatively about how to make my work/ideas public. I knew this work could not exist as a mural. If I finish it, the mural will be destroyed immediately, the post will be buried by algorithms, and censorship will win,” he added.
“The Netanyahu government is committing genocide in Gaza. I don’t think this message should be censored. I know there are critics.
“I’m also releasing a printed version of the original painting. I’m donating 100% profits from the first 10 prints to Gazachildrensfund.org,” he said.
More recently, there have been many events and developments in West Asia, particularly regarding the massacre of Gaza residents by the Israeli regime. Among them is the use of hunger as a weapon to kill more Palestinians, and the determination of Tel Aviv officials to seize and fully occupy Gaza.
At the international level, many states, officials and international human rights groups condemn plans to occupy the Gaza Strip, underscoring the need to halt wars against the region and establish a ceasefire.
At least 61,430 Palestinians, about half of their women and children, have been killed, and 153,213 have been injured in the Israeli war of massacre in the Gaza Strip since October 2023, the Health Ministry said on Sunday.
“Many victims are still trapped in tile rubs and roads because rescuers can’t reach them,” he added.
The Israeli Army resumed its attack on the Gaza Strip on March 18, killing 9,921 people and wounding 41,172 people, shattering the ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement in January.
Last November, the International Criminal Court issued a warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former defense minister Joab Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
Israel is also facing a genocide case in the International Court of Justice due to its war with the enclave.
