TEHR – The closing ceremony of the 40th FAJR International Music Festival took place on Monday at Vadat Hall, Tehran.
This year’s edition of the festival featured performances by 106 music groups and 1,771 musicians and singers at 10 venues in Tehran.
The ceremony began with a performance of “The Melody of Peace and Friendship” by Avay-e Mehr Music Group.
Actor and singer Nima Rays hosted the ceremony, and on stage he performed the song “Ai Iran,” written by late writer Nader Ebrahimi and originally sung by late folk and pop singer Mohammad Nouri. I did.
Next, Dotar players from the Khorasan region took to the stage and played music. It was followed by a video report showing the various sections of the festival.
“Music is one of our most valuable cultural assets and we must strive to strengthen and strengthen these assets,” festival secretary Reza Mahdavi said in the video. .
“In terms of both hardware and software, we have reached a position where we can create special competitiveness in the region and establish awards like Barbad in the name of great Iranian music figures.” He added.
Also at the event, Nadere Rezai, Minister of Leader of Culture and Islam for Arts Affairs, said: Despite the current challenges, we have sought to strengthen national unity by incorporating international groups by connecting experienced artists with new generations. This initiative was intended to rebuild confidence and strengthen social capital both nationally and internationally.”
She further highlighted the festival’s achievements, saying: There were joint performances between Iranian groups and musicians from different countries. And then there were enthusiastic receptions from skilled musicians from all over the world.
She expressed her hope that as the festival matures, the 41st edition and future edition will be held in even higher quality, featuring a new generation full of renowned artists and hopefulness.
Later in the ceremony, Mohsen Sharifian and his band performed traditional music from Bucher south of Iran.
“As a woman in this land, I hope to be able to perform not only in Tehran but across the country,” said her daughter Liana, who played the Electric Naien Bang (Persian Bagpipe).
The next segment was celebrated with notable musicians such as veteran musicians Sil Mohammad Espandar and Hazard Hashemi, as well as veteran vocalists Mohammad Gorriz and sound engineer Ghasem Abedin.
In the final part of the program, winners from various categories in the competition section received the award.
