TEHR – The opening ceremony of the 40th International FAJR Music Festival was held on Tuesday at the Boys Music Conservatory in Tehran.
Speaking at the event, Reza Mahdavi, secretary of the festival, said: We hope that music conservatory alumni are grateful for this valuable legacy. ”
The next part of the programme was to honor Hassan Riahhi and Seyed Hamid Shahangian, composers of Iranian music and innovative national anthem. After screening the tribute videos, the two prominent musicians were praised on stage.
Expressing his gratitude to the ceremony, veteran Iranian composer Hassan Riahi said: We are delighted that the Conservatory continues to thrive and introduces young musicians to the music community. ”
On his part, Hamid Shahangian said: “Despite all the pressure, the art of music remained immovable thanks to tireless effort and the perseverance of the musicians,” he said.
The ceremony also featured a celebration of Riahhi and Shahangian’s 80th birthday and a performance by music students from the Boys Music Conservatory.
The 40th International Fazil Music Festival is organized by the Arts Issues of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Leader in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture, the Iranian Music Association and the Music Bureau of Rudaki Foundation.
Showing and respecting the best works of Iranian musicians, promoting the art of music, strengthening audience preferences and listening culture, maintaining a national identity rooted in religious and Iranian teachings, especially the younger generations. We aim to support ideas and performance by. Identify and enhance the shapes and content quality of music in a variety of genres.
In the current edition, six musicians and bands from Turkey, Spain, India, the Netherlands, Tunisia and Armenia participated in the festival along with 100 Iranian bands made up of over 1,400 musicians.
The festival will be held in Tehran through February 17th in two competitive and non-competitive sections.
