TEHRAN – A high-ranking commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) warned on Monday that US troops in the area were sitting in “glass houses” and should avoid “throwing stones at others.”
Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh, commander of the Aerospace Division of the IRGC, made a statement about the bystander of the ritual to celebrate Eid al-Fitr.
“Americans have 10 (military) bases in the area, especially Iran and 50,000 troops are deployed on these bases, Hajizadeh said, according to Press TV.
“This means they’re sitting in a glass house, and when they’re sitting in a glass house, he doesn’t throw stones at other people.”
The IRGC’s top comments come after the threat from US President Donald Trump that if it refuses to reach a “new deal” in its nuclear program, it will bomb Iran.
On Sunday, Trump said Iran would be bombed if he didn’t make a deal with the US.
“If they don’t make a deal, there will be bombing,” he said in an interview with NBC News. He also threatened to punish Iran for what he called “secondary tariffs.”
In a post on his X account on Monday, Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeli Baghhai said the open threat of Trump’s “bombing” the country was a humiliation of global peace and security.
“The open threat of heads of state “bombing” against Iran is a shocking affront for the nature of international peace and security,” writes Baghhai.
