The 7th Russia-China Energy Business Forum opened in Beijing on Tuesday, with around 450 participants including representatives of major companies, politicians and experts from both countries, TASS reported.
Rosneft CEO Igor Sechin read a message from Russian President Vladimir Putin to forum participants. President Putin stressed that the comprehensive partnership between Russia and China continues to advance and energy remains an important area of substantive cooperation.
The message from Chinese President Xi Jinping was read out by Ding Xuexiang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Politburo of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and vice premier of the State Council. President Xi congratulated the participants on the opening of the forum and expressed hope that the discussions will strengthen bilateral energy cooperation.
The forum has been held every year since 2018.
