He made the remarks at a meeting of the National Inter-Border Transport Headquarters held in Tehran, stressing that the Islamic Republic of Iran’s transport sector can gain economic and trade benefits with neighboring countries.
Aref stressed that Iran is the best shipping route for landlocked countries without access to international waters.
He further pointed out that the country’s transportation and geographical location issues were highlighted in the Seventh Five-Year Socio-Economic and Cultural Development Plan.
The Vice President of Iran said that this traffic is effective in developing tourism, cultural and scientific relations, adding that expanding and deepening traffic ties will have an impact on expanding political and regional cooperation.
He further called on responsible officials and organizations to establish very close cooperation and interaction with the current administration in order to optimally enhance the traffic situation in the country.
Mr. Alev continued that it is the strategy of President Pezeshkian’s administration to develop sustainable and maximal relations with regional and neighboring countries in all fields, including transportation.
The meeting was also attended by Iran’s Minister of Roads and Economy.
