The Palestinian Red Crescent Association says it has recovered 14 healthcare workers in Rafa after being exposed to a severe Israeli fire last week.
Palestinian activists share on the social media scene showing the arrival of the bodies of members of Medic and civil defense.
A total of 14 bodies have been recovered after eight days of missing in the Tar Az Sultan area, west of Rafa city in southern Gaza, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent Association.
Verified by Al Jazeera fact-checking unit, the video shows the painful moments of farewell from the victim’s family.
The Red Cross Federation expresses “anger” in the murder of the PRCS Medic
The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Association (IFRC) have said the attack that killed at least eight members of the Palestinian Red Crescent Association (PRCS) was the only fatal attack on Red Cross/Red Crescent workers anywhere in the world since 2017.
“These dedicated ambulance workers were responding to the injured. They were humanitarians. They should have protected them. Their ambulances were clearly marked. They should have returned to their families. They didn’t.
“Even in the most complex conflict zones, there are rules. The rules of these international humanitarian law are not clear. Civilians must be protected.
“Our network is in mourning, but this is not enough. Instead of another call to all parties to protect and respect humanitarians and civilians, I raise the question, “When will this stop?” All political parties must stop killings, and all humanists must be protected. ”
The healthcare worker was handcuffed and buried in a single grave
In a statement, the Gaza Health Ministry said, “Some of these bodies were shot with chest tied and tied. They were buried in deep holes to prevent their identification.”
The ministry called for “United Nations organisations and associated international organizations to conduct urgent investigations into these crimes and hold the profession responsible for committing them.”
In a statement on Telegram, Hamas denounced the medics in southern Gaza, “in the strongest terms committed by a heinous crime.”
“They were handcuffed and buried in a single grave,” the group said.
“This crime confirms that we face a criminal and sadistic enemy, and is not in all human values, and is lightly emptying the Geneva Convention, which guarantees international law, international humanitarian law, and the protection of medical relief and civil defense personnel in conflict.”
