The 92-minute animated film, also known as the 2023 production, “Sword and Sorrow,” is now available to viewers around the world via Apple TV and the Amazon Prime video platform, Ilna reported.
The story takes place over a thousand years ago in Madden, a famous city in Mesopotamia. When the cruelty of the Sultan was at its peak, supporting justice was throwing one’s life to death.
Karen is a seven-year-old child, and his most important possession is a birthday gift, a wooden sword given to him by his father. But on his same birthday, things give a tragic twist. The Sultan places all those who did not follow him and his family in the sword, and Karen is one of them.
Thanks to his uncle, Karen survives. They escape the city and his uncle entrusts him to his beloved Brochim family in a small village named Mahza. Mahza is always full of love, and Karen receives lots of passes, but there is no second pass even if he lamented for his family and dreamed of finishing what his father started.
Now, 20 years from now, in Madden, Karen sees the opportunity to finally realize his father’s wish, but he knows what it costs.
