The Financial Times previously said it did not want to recognize the Palestinian state “because he wants to stay close to the United States.” The Washington administration “suffers pressure on US allies to not recognize the Palestinian state, claiming it will be difficult to find a solution,” according to the newspaper.
French President Emmanuel Macron announced on July 24 that Paris would recognize the Palestinian state at a September meeting of the UN General Assembly.
