In a move that marks a dangerous escalation of the situation in the Gaza War, Al Jazeera, security minister for the Zionist Israeli regime on Friday approved a plan to fully occupy the strip, which begins with the capture of Gaza city and forced displacement of its residents.
Regarding the planning, international relations commentators and observers warn of many dangers of such decisions. British and American media have looked into details of Gaza and its plans to account for humanitarian, political and military outcomes, as well as the mixed reactions to it.
British newspaper The I Paper cited the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu asserting the plan includes “principles for ending the Gaza War, providing humanitarian assistance outside the combat zone and handing over the Gaza Strip to the literary government.”
Forced movement of Gaza residents
The I-Paper highlighted that Tel Aviv’s plans would begin with the occupation of Gaza city itself and the forced evacuation of residents to the coastal areas of Almawasi, particularly the case. According to a report from Israel Channel 12 Television, the United States will provide logistical and humanitarian support to its plans through temporary private infrastructure. Meanwhile, observers estimate that control of Gaza city and the central region will take approximately five months.
According to a report in a British newspaper, Netanyahu argues that the plan is to eliminate Hamas and ensure the safety of Zionists, experts and observers, but this step could lead to a new wave of displacement, reinforcing the hunger crisis that spread throughout Gaza, and endangering the lives of Zionist Regime prisoners.
The Washington Post reported that it would take about two months for Gaza residents to move to alternative areas, citing sources familiar with the details of the Israeli Cabinet meeting to approve Gaza’s acquisition plan.
“The plan to occupy Gaza leads to further exhaustion,” said Aaron Bergman, a military expert at King’s College London.
The obstacles and challenges facing the full occupation of the Zionist Gaza program
He said the Zionist forces are completely exhausted in terms of equipment and talent, and they must mobilize reserves to account for the remaining 25% of Gaza, and all troops have been completely exhausted. Currently, the Gaza Strip has around four military territories. At least six divisions are required to fully occupy the Gaza Strip.
Pinfold, a Robgeist, an international security lecturer at King’s College London, explained Israel’s plan to replace 600,000 Palestinians from Gaza by invalidating the territory.
I’s paper also reported that political commentators warn that the Gaza takeover could be killed by friendly forces of Israeli prisoners in the strips held by resistance fighters. The plan also highlights that Israeli military chief of staff, Eyal Zamir, faces opposition within the army, and the army is exhausted and lacks adequate equipment and troops. In particular, the plan to occupy Gaza will require a massive mobilization of reserve soldiers amid growing public opposition to continuing the war.
According to the British newspaper, analysts believe Netanyahu’s cabinet, particularly the hardline ministers of Smotrich and Ben Gwil, are trying to turn the temporary occupation of Gaza into permanent, replacing Palestinians with the strip and building ground for new settlements.
Burcu Ozcelik, a researcher at the Burcu Ozcelik Royal United Services Institute (RUSI), argues that plans for a full acquisition of Gaza will be a dark stage in a war that will have widespread regional and international outcomes. It may even convince a country that is reluctant to separate Tel Aviv internationally and accept that the Palestinian state will give up.
Additionally, Yossi Mekelberg, a Fellow of Chatham House in London, is also known as the Royal Institute of International Studies. The Gaza Occupation Plan argued that it could be the beginning of a more extreme version of Tel Aviv’s goal in the Gaza War under the influence of a far-right minister in Netanyahu’s ministers.
