During Sunday’s cabinet session, Pezeshkian expressed his gratitude to Iranian people for their large and enthusiastic participation in the international QUDS Day rally. He celebrated Iranian people and Muslims around the world on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, expressing his hope that the month of Ramadan will bring greater unity, patience and kindness within Iranian society.
Pezeschkian emphasized that the spiritual and moral lessons of Ramadan should lead to improvements in personal and social behavior. He emphasized the need to encourage perseverance, forgiveness and compassion in society and strengthen solidarity and unity among people.
Iran’s reaction to Trump’s letter
Regarding the letter sent by US President Donald Trump, Pezeshkian confirmed that Iran’s official response had been reached to the US through Oman. He explicitly rejected the possibility of direct negotiations with the US, but made it clear that the option of indirect consultations remains on the table.
“As mentioned previously, Iran has never shut down its channels of indirect communication. In its response, Iran does not avoid negotiations, but rather reaffirms that it has been a repeated violation of the agreements and commitments that have created obstacles to this path.”
He emphasized that if the US attempts to restore negotiations, it must first rebuild trust by correcting past violations, adding that it is the American approach to determine the continuation of the negotiation channel.
Regional Israeli atrocities
Elsewhere in his remarks, Pezeshkian strongly condemned the actions of the Israeli regime, labeling the continued bombing of civilians as inhumane and unacceptable, even after the announcement of a ceasefire.
The massacre committed by the Zionist regime must be stopped immediately. Despite international demands for a ceasefire, it is absolutely unacceptable that they continue to rain bombs and rain bombs on innocent civilians under the pretext of safe concerns. “In the face of such atrocities, no honorable man can remain silent.”
He called for greater unity among Islamic countries, emphasizing that solidarity and cooperation between Islamic countries is essential to countering such atrocities.
He concluded his remarks by praying for an end to violence and oppression and expressing his hopes that Muslims will stand up against ongoing injustice in the region.
