Tehran – Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization (AEOI) has started its first cold plasma therapy clinic for the treatment of wounds using indigenous techniques, in collaboration with Jafflom Medical University, Medicine, Southern Fars state.
At the opening ceremony, AEOI Head Mohammad Eslami linked the outcomes to scientific advancement and national confidence, highlighting the use of nuclear technology in health services and agriculture.
The clinic’s inauguration ceremony could help other medical centers across the country expand plasma therapy technology, officials noted.
Hossein Hakimerahi’s Prime Minister of Jafflom University of Medical Sciences has expressed his hope that the initiative will open up opportunities for the use of nuclear technology in cancer treatment and other health areas.
National Nuclear Technology Day
Iran marked National Nuclear Technology Day on April 9th, documenting the presentation of a wide range of achievements in the nuclear industry at a major exhibition held in Tehran.
Iranian President Masoud Pezshkian, Eslami and a group of senior officials visited an exhibition at Iranian Atomic Energy Organization (AEOI).
The event was divided into three important sections, highlighting the country’s progress in the nuclear fuel cycle, energy generation and peaceful applications of nuclear technology.
The third section, “Applications of the Nuclear Industry,” introduced the peaceful scope of use of nuclear science. The exhibits included heavy water and deuterium compounds, radiopharmaceuticals, nuclear measuring devices, plasma research, and techniques for producing radiation-based applications in medicine and agriculture. Innovations (medical and industrial) such as blood irradiation systems, industrial particle accelerators, and cutting-edge quantum and laser technologies were also on display.
In recent years, Iranian scientists have made significant advances in the field of peaceful nuclear technology despite sanctions imposed by the West.
