Tehran – The first train associated with the golden triangle of Iranian tourism, including Isfahan, Shiraz and Yazd, arrived at Yazd station on Tuesday.
Its passengers were welcomed by the director of the Iranian Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts Bureau, and other Yazd officials.
Seyed Reza Sadat-Hosseini, director of Yazd Railways, told IRNA that coordination was made to allow tourists and passengers on the train to visit Yazd’s historic sites, including Amir Chakhmaq Square, Yazd Jameh Mosque and Dowlatabad Garden.
The train was expected to leave Yazd on Tuesday night for Shiraz’s destination, he predicted.
He added that the five-day tour is planned to promote the tourism industry and showcase the rich attractions of these three cities.
Passengers are visiting the historical and cultural attractions of Yazd, Shiraz and Isfahan, and are familiar with the rich culture of the civilizations of these cities, he said.
The “Golden Triangle” tourism agreement, originally signed in 2016, was revived by the governors of Iranian provinces of Isfahan, Fars and Yazd.
The updated agreement aims to strengthen cooperation between these historically rich regions to boost domestic tourism and attract international travelers. Additionally, we plan to strengthen our infrastructure to improve accessibility on both sides of the triangle.
