TEHRAN – On the occasion of Tehran’s week and day, an exhibition of historic photographs of Tehran, titled “Face of Tehran,” is open on Monday at the city’s Akkane Shahl (Photo Museum).
According to Isna, Axkhaneh Shahr is set to showcase 60 photos of Tehran during the 13th century AH (19th century Gregorian calendar). These photos were taken by photographers such as Luigi Pash, Luigi Montabane, Aga Reza Akasubashi and Abdullah Mirza Kajar, and are considered in Tehran’s first visual document.
In addition to these works, two old maps of Tehran, created at 1269 and 1275 AH, will be on display for the first time.
The “Face of Tehran” exhibition is a religious tribute to Iran’s 200-year-old capital. A city has experienced many changes in its face and identity over time. These images narrate the time when our ancestors lived, and the first signs of Tehran’s urban life are recorded in the photographic framework.
The opening ceremony of the exhibition will be held in Akkane Shahl on Monday at the intersection of Bahar St and Bahar Shiraz Street near Hafter Thiru Square.
Visiting the exhibition is free to the public and open to the public, and interested parties can visit the exhibition (holiday) daily from 9am to 5pm.
