According to an official statement released by the IRGC’s Office of Public Affairs, Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajiza, commander of the Tehran-Islamic Revolutionary Guard (IRGC) aerospace forces, martyred in Israeli attacks on Iran’s IRGC facilities.
The attack, known as “brutal and terrorist acts,” led to the deaths of several other IRGC members. A key figure in Iran’s military strategy, General Hajizadeh led the aerospace force for 16 years, was believed to have significantly improved the capabilities of Iran’s missiles and drones.
The IRGC has swearing that it will only strengthen Iran’s determination to retaliate, denounce the strike as an act of “Zionist fear.” “This criminal act will not weaken our country, but will instead strengthen our commitment to revenge,” the statement read.
Many other high-ranking military officials, including IRGC Chief Hossein Salami and the Iranian military prime minister, also marched in Israeli airstrikes in their apartments early on Friday. New officials have already been appointed to take on their roles.
