TEHRAN – Iran targeted the largest US base in West Asia on Monday, launching as many US troops as it used at Iran’s nuclear sites over the weekend, attacking Aludade Air Force Base in Qatar, the Persian Gulf state, according to a statement from Iran’s highest security board.
In another statement, Iranian forces said the country is ready to strike more American targets in the future if Washington continues its attack on Iran. “The will of Iran’s powerful and popular military will ensure that repeated mischief will guarantee the collapse of American military presence in the region, the humiliating retreat from West Asia, the shared misunderstanding of Islamic Umma and the realization of a nation seeking global freedom, namely the eradication of cancerous tumors.
The Iranian attack comes after US President Donald Trump ordered strikes at three Iranian nuclear sites early on Sunday. Analysts and officials have warned him of the move, saying it could lead to a huge regional fire across the board.
Iran also fires missiles and drones every day in occupying territories in response to the regime’s ongoing Ariel campaign that began on June 13, with more than 400 Iranian civilians so far and 2000 wounded. According to reports from the Hebrew media, large strips of Israel’s region are currently in abandoned.
Located southwest of Doha, Aludede Air Force Base in Qatar is the most important US military facility in West Asia and serves as the neurological center for American operations throughout the region. Its importance stems from a combination of geographical positioning, advanced infrastructure, and operational capabilities essential to regional US military strategies. It also serves as the forward headquarters of the US Central Command (CENTCOM) and the home of the Combined Air Operations Center (CAOC).
The base is believed to have been evacuated before the strike. Experts believe Iran could carry out the same type of attack on 18 other US bases scattered across Western Asia.
