Admiral Habibora Sayali, deputy chief of the Iranian Army, said on Monday that the troops have put in great effort to obtain the main purpose of the drill.
Iranian forces held a massive military exercise in Zolfakar 1403 in late February, extending to a latitude of 10 degrees in the strategic Macran coastline in the country’s southern part of the Sea of Oman, and areas along the northern edge of the Indian Ocean.
Various infantry, armor and mechanized units, air defense systems, unmanned vehicles (UUVs), unmanned vessels (USVs), and Air Force strategic bombers for logistic support took part in the drill.
Sayyari said the piloting was performed in a vast area in the presence of numerous units from various units with very maneuverable equipment and diverse equipment.
He said despite all the activity and numerous launches on land, air, sea and water, there were no small incidents during the exercise.
“This reflects the high accuracy and skills of Islamic Republic officials in the Iranian Army in carrying out combat operations,” Saiyari said.
He said the Zolfakar 1403 drill has achieved the ultimate goal of increasing the defensiveness and deterrence of Iranian forces to confront current and future threats.
The top commander said the successful drills boosted the morale of the Iranian people and made them aware of the high level of preparation of the military in the face of threats.
People-backed Iranian military forces are always ready to defend the integrity of the country’s territorial and Islamic revolution, he said, adding that such capabilities will certainly improve in the future.
Iranian troops are holding routine exercises according to detailed schedules of different regions of the country to test weapons and equipment and assess battle preparations.
Iranian officials have repeatedly emphasized that the country will not hesitate to strengthen its military capabilities, saying Iran’s defensive capabilities will never be subject to negotiations.
