About “Children and Armed Conflict”
New York, June 26, 2025
In the name of God, the most compassionate and most merciful
Thank you, Madame. About organizing this important annual open debate. We also thank Breemer for their contributions. Unfortunately, international humanitarian law continues to be systematically and violently violated, and children still owes to the brunt of a war they have never started or hoped for.
Armed conflicts have widespread short-term and long-term impacts on their health, education, development and future, while at risking the lives and well-being of children. Compliance with international humanitarian law is one of the important commitments that everyone should observe to ensure effective protection of children.
Madame President,
More than 50,000 Palestinian children have been killed or injured by Israel since 2023, according to a UN report.
The magnitude of the Israeli regime’s absurdness is the extent to which new terms emerged, as cited as “injured children, no surviving families,” due to the permanent murder of children.
In addition to intentional Israeli attacks on children and civilian objects needed by children, such as schools and hospitals, hundreds of thousands of children are deliberately deprived of access to food, water, medicine and other basic services.
Today, many of them are exposed to starvation as a way of Israeli warfare, but also face the risk of being targeted at boundaries awaiting humanitarian assistance.
Madame President,
Over the past few weeks, the world has been suffering and rage, this time witnessing the same patterns and practices as the Israeli regime in killing children in Iran.
In the course of a brutal attack on my country, the administration intentionally attacked civilians since June 13th, killing dozens of children, including young infants and babies, two months old.
The horrific atrocities and widespread systemic attacks of the occupation regime in the region are on the rise. This is a red warning for the international community, indicating the serious dangers and dangers that the Israeli regime poses to the lives, happiness, safety and security of children.
However, the administration is fully responsible for its crimes, particularly its policies and practices targeting children.
Madame President,
Last week, the Israeli government was once again included in the blacklist of parties committing serious offences affecting children in situations of armed conflict on the Security Council agenda.
This is an essential early step, but it is not proportional enough to stop the administration’s children from targeting them.
This very August body must bear responsibility to save the lives of children as soon as possible, and therefore must adopt effective enforcement measures against Israeli child murder regime immediately.
The United States has thwarted any efforts by the UN Security Council to protect Palestinian children, but should not give up in the face of such double standards and hypocrisy. All legal paths must be exhausted to ensure protection for Palestinian people, including children.
In conclusion, President Madame, I firmly reject the baseless, unrelated production that was levelled against my country in this room yesterday by representatives of the Israeli regime killing children. The administration had no choice but to resort to lies and misinformation before this council, but these accusations are hardly worthy of reaction. The facts speak for itself.
