TEHRAN – A new mural in Varias Square in Tehran was released on Saturday with images of a martial commander and nuclear scientist who lost his life in the Zionist regime’s attack on Iran.
The mural featuring the slogan “I am an Iranian soldier” shows people’s love for their country and their readiness to protect it, the IRNA reported.
The mural also features Mount Damavand, the highest peak in Iran and Western Asia, with several missiles fired into the sky from the mountains in the background.
The majestic peak of Damavand transcended its role as a mere mountain, and emerged as a powerful coat of arms of immobility and unity. It has played a prominent role in Iranian mythology and literature. It is considered a popular book of Iranian poetry by Feldousi, the magnificent mountain of Shahname, and a symbol of resistance and strength in Iranian folk tales.
Iranian martyrs painted on the murals include Major General Hossein Salami, Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Major General Mohammad Bagyeri, Chief of the Iranian military co-staff, and Brigadier General Amirari Hajiza, commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
Salami and Bagheri were assassinated in an Israeli airstrike in their apartment early on Friday, June 13th. Hajizadeh was martyred in an Israeli attack on Iran’s IRGC facility.
Nuclear scientist and former Iranian nuclear chief Feredun Abbasi, and another well-known nuclear scientist and president of Iran’s Islamic Azad University, Mohammad Medi Tehrenches are also faces seen in the murals. They were also targeted in separate attacks on Tehran’s residence.
Also, what is written on the mural is a line of poems from the famous Persian poet Mehdi Akhavan-Sales (1928-1990).
The poem line with images of the mural is a tribute to Iran’s rich history and culture, and expresses the Iranians’ deep affection for their hometown.
Early on June 13, Israel launched a massive, untrained, armed attack on Iran. This was a terrible act of attack by all definitions.
Since then, through coordinated air, missile and drone strikes, it has targeted residential areas, civil infrastructure, public agencies, and nuclear facilities that are subject to protection of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), bringing the martial arts of senior military commanders, well-known scientists, and innocent civilians, including women and children.
In response to Israel’s attacks on Iranian territory, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard (IRGC) launched a massive retaliation operation called “True Promise 3.”
