TEHRAN – Dozens of Palestinians were killed and many others were injured while trying to access food in Gaza.
The hunger-stricken victims waited at the Khan Eunice aid distribution site run by the so-called Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), an organisation supported by the US and Israeli occupation.
The Gaza Health Ministry reports that at least 45 civilians have been killed by Israeli occupation forces (IOF) in the shooting, and many others have been injured.
Nasser Hospital, a barely functional hospital in the area, is overwhelmed with many of the injured lying on the floor as medical staff struggle to treat them.
This could be the most fatal incident in almost a day’s shooting, centered around GHF Aid Delivery Centers.
Witnesses say the IOF fired and fired an area near the east junction of Khan Yunis. There, thousands of Palestinians gathered in the hopes of receiving food parcels.
According to Palestinian News Agency’s WAFA, the latest massacre occurred after 37 people died Monday near a food distribution center run by a US private contractor guarded by the IOF.
A total of 338 Palestinians have been killed and 2,831 have been injured while seeking assistance since May 27th.
Citing medical sources, WAFA reported that a total of 338 Palestinians have been killed and 2,831 injured while seeking assistance since May 27th. It remains unclear whether the latest casualties are included in these figures.
Additional casualties were also reported in the northwest of Beit Lahia. There, the IOF fired fire at civilians trying to access humanitarian assistance.
These incidents have been criticized by UN experts as part of a broader pattern of IOF attacks on the Gaza Strip.
On Monday, UN Human Rights Chief Vol Cartark accused the Israeli regime of weaponizing weapons and called for an investigation into the shootings near the GHF distribution site.
The IOF fighters also bombed the northern region of Khan Younis and other areas of the coastal enclave.
Since October 7, 2023, the US-backed IOF has run a genocide campaign against Gaza’s population, characterized by widespread killing, hunger, destruction and forced displacement.
Despite international appeals and rulings by the International Court of Justice, by halting the War of Genocide, the campaign has resulted in more than 184,000 Palestinians being killed or injured, most of whom have given birth to women and children.
More than 11,000 people have gone missing, hundreds of thousands have been evacuated, and severe hunger has claimed the lives of many, including children.
