According to Al Jazeera news agency, Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich acknowledged that Hamas’ October 7 operation against Israel (Al-Aqsa Storm) imposed a heavy and painful price on the Zionist entity and called for an investigation and accountability of officials.
Smotrich warned reporters that the war was not over yet and said there were forces urging Israel to withdraw.
Describing the current moment as a critical juncture, he rhetorically asked whether Israel should be allowed to surrender to its enemies in Gaza and remain on the occupied Palestinian border in case of another attack. He also questions whether Israel should return to diplomatic agreements, which guarantees are worthless in his view.
Prime Minister Smotrich emphasized that he would not allow his cabinet to collapse and that he would not allow two years of so-called broad mobilization of the people to go to waste.
