Tehran – A Persian translation of the book “The Psychology of Democracy,” written by Darren G. Lileker and Billur Aslan Ozgl, has been released in the Iranian book market.
Nazi Akbari translated the book, and Qoqnoos Publishing House published it on 159 pages, Ilna reported.
The “Psychology of Democracy” explains the psychological foundations behind why people engage and participate in politics. Covering the impacts of political campaigns and media, the book analyzes local and real-world political events such as the Arab Spring, Brexit, Black Life Matter, the US 2020 election, and the COVID-19 pandemic.
Lilleker and Ozgul take readers on a journey to explore the cognitive processes during performances as they participate in political news items to protest government policies and actions.
In an age of truth and populism, the “pse of democracy” shows how powerful and healthy democracy, like the election process, depends on citizens’ emotions and emotions such as trust, belonging, empowerment, and expression.
Darren G. Lilleker is an associate professor of political communication at Bournemouth University in the UK and author of Political Communication and Cognition.
Billur Aslan Ozgul is a lecturer in political communication at Brunel University, London, UK, and author of “Major Protests in the Digital Age: Youth Activities in Egypt and Syria.”
