TEHRAN – Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bakar Karibah has dismissed recent Israeli rhetoric as “delusion” meaning it will affect ongoing indirect nuclear talks between Iran and the United States, warning that acts of invasions against Iran will soften the region.
Karibah made a speech at a parliamentary session on Tuesday, two days after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called for a complete dismantling of Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, claiming that the “only big name” was modelled on a deal that Libya agreed to in 2003.
“The Detective Zionist Prime Minister has once again turned into an air threat in his desperate attempt to avoid political collapse,” he said. “He is a pathetic person who changes his flight route every day due to fear of arrest.
“The administration has not achieved its declared goal since the war began. Its only legacy is bombing schools and hospitals, and is now in its most unstable state to date,” he said, adding that Israel’s domestic and international crisis has driven it into a blank display in Bravado.
He warned that Israel’s continued provocation is even verbally dangerous. “Even the slightest attack on Iran is like setting igniter barrels of gunpowder and causing an explosion throughout the region,” he warned.
Kalibah stressed that Iran does not take such rhetoric seriously, but is ready to respond when necessary.
Reaffirming Iran’s position, he declared: “Attacks on our country will target all US bases in this region, and the regional governments that host them will bear the costs of Israeli adventurism.”
Karibah stressed that Iran’s military capabilities are not limited. “Our hands are fully open to deploy offensive power at any scale. We have both knowledge and will,” he said.
He also urged the government to focus on strengthening the country from within. “The best way to promote negotiations that serve Iran’s national interests is to rely on domestic capabilities and build stronger international partnerships to prevent foreign enforcement,” he said. He has called on the government to promote the full implementation of electronic distribution coupons and the full implementation of energy-saving measures, saying these will directly benefit the people.
In a post on X on Monday, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Arakich said Netanyahu was trying to direct US policies in negotiations.
The top diplomat also emphasized that Iran is “strong and confident enough to hamper foreign policy or block attempts by malicious outsiders to direct its course.”
Iran and the United States held three indirect talks mediated by Oman on Tehran’s nuclear program and the end of US sanctions. Both are also expected to hold a fourth round of discussion.
