Director of International Atomic Energy Agency Rafael Grossi made a statement in an interview with Iranian Broadcasting (IRIB) on Wednesday after arriving in Tehran for a two-day visit to meet Iranian officials.
In response to questions about the threat from Israel and the US that threatened to bomb Iran’s nuclear presence, he said he would not accept the allegations that the agency was silent in that regard.
Grossi said the IAEA has always emphasized that threats targeting nuclear facilities are unacceptable and that such attacks not only exacerbate existing problems, but also lead to serious environmental impacts.
He called for close cooperation between Iran and the institution and refused to adopt an institution’s political approach.
He said Iran must continue to provide assurances about nuclear activity.
