TEHRAN – Ismail Bagaei, a spokesman for Iran’s Foreign Ministry, has expressed deep sadness over the massacre of civilians in Yemen, the massacres that include innocent women and children, and the destruction of key domestic infrastructure by US military strikes, describing the attack as an example of “aggression and war crimes.”
Baghaei said the inaction by the UN Security Council and other international organizations regarding these atrocities in Yemen is “shady and unfairly impossible.”
The spokesman also pointed to the massacre of hundreds of Palestinian women and children in various parts of the Gaza Strip over the past few days, saying that those who support the Zionist regime military, financially and politically are complicit in these crimes.
With the simultaneous attacks on Yemen that began during the administration of Democratic President Joe Biden and the escalating genocide in Gaza, there is no doubt about the joint American and Ionist conspiracy to weaken Islamic Ummah and suppress the voice in solidarity with the oppressed Palestinian people.
Bagaei said Islamic Umma shared a common responsibility to halt the crimes of Zionist regimes against Palestinians and Islamic countries and called for comprehensive and effective actions from the Islamic government and organisations of Islamic cooperation to prevent these abusive behaviors.
The US attacked a target in Yemen’s capital Sanaa on Wednesday, and Ansalallan al-Masila Television reported that it is the latest in a wave of strikes committed against the country, as Yemen said it would target ships associated with Israeli regimes to block humanitarian aid in Gaza.
Three residents told Reuters that the strike had hit Sanaa’s Al Jaraf district, near the city’s airport.
The strike also struck the underconstruction opportunity hall in the residential area of Al Taura Department in Sanaa, causing nine people, mainly women and children, Ane Al Asbahi, a spokesman for the Ministry of Health, said in a post in X.
Al Masila said the strike also targeted Al Suwaidia, manager of Al Baida, Yemeni, in southern Yemen.
The US launched the current wave of strikes over targets of Yemeni Hooty last Saturday, killing at least 31 people in such a greatest operation since President Donald Trump returned to the White House in January.
Ansalara, who was fought over US strikes and threats, has said that in response to the US campaign, it will escalate attacks, including Israel.
On Tuesday, Ansalala said he would expand the country’s targets in retaliation for launching ballistic missiles at Israel and retreating Israeli airstrikes in Gaza after weeks of relatively calm.
