US President Donald Trump received a royal welcome after arriving in Saudi Arabia, the first stop on his three-day regional tour.
The two countries have signed a $142 billion defence sales agreement as part of their $600 million Saudi investment commitment, according to the White House.
“We love each other very much,” Trump says during talks with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
The two leaders also met a long list of major US executives in Riyadh for the Saudi Arabian investment forum.
After Saudi Arabia, Trump is scheduled to visit Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.
Meanwhile, White House AI and Crypto Tsar David Sacks defended Trump’s move to open up AI technology exports to allies as several Persian Gulf companies reportedly pursue deals with the US.
At the Saudi Arabiada Investment Forum in Riyadh, Sachs said Biden-era regulations have announced plans for the Trump administration to “limit or limit plans to limit the spread of American technology around the world.”
“(Dissemination) is not a risk to friends like Saudi Arabia,” said Sachs, Musk’s best friend.
