According to a report from a correspondent for Al Mayadene in Vienna, the US is putting maximum pressure on the US to prevent the adoption of a resolution jointly submitted by Iran, Russia and China with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
The draft calls for a ban on attacks and threats on nuclear facilities under IAEA safeguards, and directly denounces Israel and the United States.
However, the leaked information suggests that widespread criticism and political sensitivity from some IAEA members could result in the resolution being withdrawn before it comes to formal votes.
The correspondent called for approval by the UN Security Council if the resolution was adopted, and emphasized that it could be considered a historic move, marking Washington and Tel Aviv when they faced such condemnations at this level.
At this point, sources show that co-hosting countries can move forward with the resolution until next year.
