At a briefing Thursday, State Department deputy spokesman Tommy Piggott said talks between the US and Iran over Tehran’s nuclear issue have been constructive so far.
He added that President Donald Trump wants to see diplomacy.
Since President Donald Trump took office to attend Tehran’s nuclear program, US and Iranian officials have held four rounds of consultations, mainly in Oman, Fox reported.
Iran has always said that despite all hostility towards the states of the Western Province, it never seeks nuclear weapons, and that its peaceful nuclear program will continue despite all the pressure.
President Masoud Pezeshkian said on Sunday that his country has never tried to acquire nuclear weapons and has not wanted to do so in the future.
Pezeschkian said Tehran is in talks with the US on its nuclear program “so we want peace and not seek war.”
