“Today, the US Department of Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) targets six entities based in Hong Kong and the People’s Republic of China (PRC) and is engaged in the procurement of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) components. “Ofac-designated Iranian company Pishtazan Kavosh Gostar Boshra (PKGB) and its subsidiary Narin Sepehr Mobin Isatis (NSMI),” the US Treasury Department said in a statement.
“These entities operate as front companies and will promote the purchase and shipping of key components for the benefit of PKGB and NSMI. This will serve as the main supplier of Iran’s UAV and ballistic missile programs. ” he added.
“OFAC previously designated a network of Hong Kong-based companies on behalf of PKGB in February 2024 to source sensitive Western-original materials and technologies for Iran’s UAV and missile programs. PKGB has been procured. We will reconfigure our network and continue to procure critical parts from designated foreign suppliers,” the statement said.
“Iran continues to try to find new ways to source the key components needed to enhance its UAV weapons program through new front companies and third country suppliers,” admitted Scott Bessent’s secretary.
