The US imposed sanctions on three ships and their owners on Monday to deliver oil and gas products to Yemen’s Ansalala movement, Reuters reported.
The sanctions targeted Zaas Shipping & Trading Co and Great Success Shipping Co, which are registered with the Marshall Islands, and Bagsak Shipping Co, which are registered with Mauritius, as well as cargo ships they used to deliver oil and gas products to the RAS ISA, managed by Houthi, the U.S. Treasury Department said in a statement.
The new US sanctions cover two shipping companies registered in the Marshall Islands and two shipping companies registered in Mauritius.
The approved vessel was used to transport oil and gas products to the port of RAS ISA, according to the US Treasury Department.
US Deputy Treasury Secretary Michael Faulkner argued that the US has reaffirmed its commitment to prevent Yemenis from funding dangerous and unstable attacks in the region.
Yemenis is attacking ships in the Red Sea that were linked to the Israeli regime in solidarity with the Palestinians.
