The Saudial Hadas Channel reported that the battery had arrived in Israel on Saturday.
Previously, it was reported that a US Air Force C-5M Super Galaxy cargo plane had arrived at Nevatim Air Base, Israel in the desert north of the Negev. The aircraft that jumped out of Ramstein Air Force Base in Germany reportedly delivered a THAAD battery.
The US sent its first battery to Israel in October 2024 at the request of Tel Aviv.
Thaad, a terminal high-altitude area defense system, is a mobile, high-altitude missile defense platform that can intercept ballistic missiles outside the atmosphere.
The latest deployment has been added, along with the military equipment that has been supplying Israel since the start of the Genocide War in Gaza in October 2023 amid growing tensions in the region over Trump’s war threat against Iran, according to Israeli forces.
Iran has repeatedly said Washington’s deployment of THAAD battery to Israel is part of its “psychological warfare.”
The development is also taking place as Israeli Netanyahu is scheduled to meet with Trump at the White House on Monday, the Prime Minister’s Office said late Saturday.
Netanyahu said he will discuss issues such as US tariffs on Israeli imports, the Tel Aviv war with Gaza and the “Iranian threat” with Trump.
On March 30, Trump threatened to “bomb” Iran if Tehran does not sign a deal with Washington over its nuclear program. Tehran said the US president’s open threat to the country was a humiliation for world peace and security.
