Tehran – A tour of the grounds of the Iranian capital, damaged during the 12-day war imposed by Israel, aims to showcase the resilience of Amir Kasemy, the head of the tourism office of the Tehran Municipality.
He told Mehr News Agency: “If we don’t explain, the courage of the Iranian people during the 12 days of the war will be forgotten.”
Qasemi explained: “This tour was the improvisational idea of seeing feedback first while on a tour of a photographer. We will be holding this tour for elites, including university professors. We will take them to see disasters. We will take the elites to these locations and ask them to go through generations.
“Our people are passionate about their country. These things don’t happen easily. These events that mark disasters have joined us with many people who may not have been with us. We held tours where university professors are critical, but when the tour took place, his opinion completely changed.
He said: “It is true that many people traveled during the war and Tehran was abandoned, but the whole country was active. Tehran supported the eight-year war between 1980 and 88, but was at the forefront of the war during the 12-day war. People’s reactions at the time were unparalleled.”
Qasemi pointed out: “I’ve been working for the last 12 days. I’ve never seen whether I was born in another country or not, so I tell my colleagues that I should do my best for these people. We’ve done a good job in this area.
