Baghaei said in a statement on Saturday that Israel’s continued immunity was the main reason for the ongoing crime.
“You’re not going to find any other actors who have so blatantly violated international human rights law,” he said. He warned that indifference leads to misconduct and that in the face of injustice, omission leads to accomplice.
Referring to Article 24 of the UN Charter, which prohibits the use of force, he emphasized that the international community as a whole and all member states of the United Nations have a clear responsibility to tackle this injustice.
Baghaei added that Israel’s actions not only violate the UN Charter, but also constitute a pattern of war crimes and crimes against humanity.
“Israels are intentionally and maliciously targeting residential areas, hospitals, fire stations and everything you can imagine,” he said of the ongoing Israeli attack on Iran.
“They killed civilians, including prominent university professors, women and children. Countless individuals have become victims of this act of attack,” he added.
The spokesman reiterated Iran’s call for accountability and global action to stop the Israeli regime’s crimes.
