“There is no obstacle to Iran’s economic cooperation and economic investment on the US side. It was the Americans themselves, and it was the Americans themselves. It took citizens from Iran’s citizens by enacting a complex, dense, multi-layered law,” Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei also told reporters on Monday.
Hassanzadeh said early on Sunday that the decision to engage in negotiations with the US would develop Tehran’s prudence and reasonable approach, the first round held in Muscat through Omani mediation on Saturday.
He emphasized that starting a dialogue with the US is an important step to stimulate Iran’s economic activity.
Hassanzadeh also urged economic actors and entrepreneurs to play an active role in working with the Iranian regime to advance the country’s economic diplomacy, while maintaining a realistic view of negotiations.
He said consultations in Oman have sparked optimism among Iranian economic actors, but added that the main strength of Iranian entrepreneurs and producers lies in the domestic capabilities and skilled labor.
Finally, Hasanzadeh said that progress made through negotiations and other initiatives would be a substantial stage for development by strengthening production and expanding foreign trade.
