Mohsen Rezaei, a former commander of the IRGC and a member of Iran’s Comfort Identification Council, criticized the US and Europe during a TV interview regarding the JCPOA and the recent IAEA resolutions.
He described the snapback mechanism as “the end of European foreign policy on the international stage.”
He highlighted the illegality of activating the snapback mechanism, saying it could have been applied only if Iran did not fulfill its obligation. “For the past 20 years, we have undergone continuous IAEA testing and have not deviated from our commitment,” he added.
Rezaei reiterated that while Iran fully adheres to all of its commitments under the JCPOA, other parties have failed to meet them. “Therefore, there is no legal basis to invoke the snapback mechanism, and as China and Russia have also said, this action is illegal and illegal,” he emphasized.
Referring to the recent failures of the US and Israeli regimes in the 12-day imposed war, Rezai added:
Elsewhere in his remarks, he said, “The Islamic Republic has shown sincerity to the United States and Europe, and there is no more reason to enter into another useless negotiation,” highlighting the need to redefine Iran’s red line in foreign policy.
