Iran’s Parliamentary Speaker Mohammad Bakr Karibah warned that the Islamic Republic would not show self-restraint if a new war unfolds against the country, vowing that the attack would trigger a wider response on multiple fronts.
Speaking at parliamentary session on Tuesday, Karibah said Iranian troops had created a “appropriate plan” to stop the enemy and prevent miscalculation. He pointed to the codename called Sustainable Force, a large navy military exercise, as evidence of Tehran’s preparation to send a “clear message” to hostile political parties.
“In a potential new war, Iran will no longer exercise self-control,” he declared, emphasizing that retaliation extends beyond the battlefield to “other territories and places, including economic and political territories.”
Karibahu praised what he described as a unified national response to the Israeli-American attacks in June. He said strong unity between the people, the military and the country’s political leaders had hampered the enemy’s design during the 12-day conflict.
“The unwavering support of the military and national authorities has taken the biggest blow to enemy plots to destroy Iran,” he said. The phrase intentionally reflected the terminology used to describe Iranian resistance during the eight years of war imposed by Saddam Hussein in the 1980s.
Karibah also emphasized that Ayatollah, the leader of the Islamic Revolution, will seyed Ali Khamenei and maintain post-conflict unity. He pointed out that leaders emphasized the importance of unity not only in legislation, enforcement and judicial branches, but also among the state and Iranian people.
