Three buses exploded in Batyam near Tel Aviv on suspicion of militants’ attacks, Israeli police said.
The move was announced by Israeli forces, accompanied by the closure of several checkpoints on the road heading towards the west bank of the Jordan River.
The Army added that it had strengthened “anti-terrorist” activities in the occupied West Bank.
Israeli political analyst Akiva Eldar told Al Jazeera that the attack on Tel Aviv buses “paralysed public transport” in the area the day before a busy week.
“Many soldiers are back home over the weekend and the nerves are on the edges,” Elder said.
“I don’t know what will happen next with the prisoners. I’ve heard various rumors about the plans President Trump has about Gaza, people relocation, and there’s an escalation in the West Bank, and we’re now looking at it. What’s going on is that Tel Aviv is not safe.”
“The message that the Palestinians want to convey is that unless we are safe in Ramala, and of course in Gaza, Israelis cannot feel safe in Tel Aviv.”
“More and more Israelis have given up on all their illusions about Netanyahu and security,” he added.
