Tehran – Sports Movies & TV 2025 – Milan International FICTS Fest will screen three Iranian films. The fest is the final of 20 festivals (around 5 continents) in the World FICTS Challenge Championship of Television, Film, Communication and Sports Culture.
Mehr reported that the feature film “Sattar el Clasico” written and directed by Hadi Shariati, “Trick” directed by Jafar Sadeghi, and the short film “Chekhov’s Gun” directed by Seyed Abbas Hosseini are the Iranian films at the festival, which opens in Milan, Italy on October 7th and runs until October 11th.
“Sattar El Clasico” is a 75-minute film about Elias, who goes to a racetrack on the weekend and bets on horses. More often than not, his money goes to jockey Sattar Mehrani, popularly known as Sattar El Clasico.
The story revolves around this bond, anticipation, anticipation, and intensely experienced racing, highlighting the atmosphere of racetracks and the appeal of the world of horse racing to those who attend them.
In the 100-minute “Trick,” a young wrestling coach starts a club for children from an impoverished neighborhood. Thanks to the efforts of the coaches, the children’s dreams that were unachievable until yesterday became the goals they have today, 10 years later.
The eight-minute “Chekhov’s Gun” tells the story of a young boy who makes a strange mistake in a smoky wasteland.
The festival is characterized by national and international participation and consists of 100 screenings (selected from approximately 2,000 participating films, including 25 world premieres and European premieres), four conferences, three workshops, four exhibitions, two conferences, eight side events, the Paralympic International Film & TV Fest, and 20 award ceremonies with national and international guests.
The event is organized by FICTS (International Federation of Cinema, Television and Sport), with the participation of 130 member countries and endorsed by the International Olympic Committee, through the slogan “FICTS is Culture through Sport”, promoting the values of sport through film.
