On Tuesday, December 2, Turkey reported that another tanker was attacked in the Black Sea on its way to Georgia, but no one was injured, Le Monde newspaper reported.
The incident occurred days after two other tankers suffered explosions off the coast of Türkiye. A Ukrainian security source claimed responsibility for the attacks, telling AFP news agency that the drones had attacked a ship “covertly transporting Russian oil.”
The latest incident on Tuesday morning struck the Mid Volga 2, which “reported that it was attacked 80 nautical miles from the coast of our country,” the Turkish Maritime Directorate wrote in X, adding that the tanker was “cruising from Russia to Georgia with a cargo of sunflower oil” with 13 crew members on board.
“There are currently no adverse effects to the ship’s 13 crew members and no requests for assistance,” the ministry said.
