Maj. Gen. Abdulrahim Mousavi made the remarks on Tuesday during a visit to IRIB, praising the state broadcaster for its decisive role during the 12-day war imposed by the Zionist regime and the United States since June.
“We know that the war is not over,” the general said, and the state broadcaster must continue its efforts to normalize public opinion, calm the country and prevent public tensions.
The commander said that no one expected such a ferocious and completely illegal invasion by the enemy during the negotiations, adding that the enemy has tried its best to undermine the unity of the nation, but has always been defeated.
Maj. Gen. Mousavi stressed that Iran’s doctrine is defensive and that Iran will never start any war.
However, he warned that if war broke out again, “we will inflict an even harsher blow on our enemies.”
While Iran has traditionally focused on deterrence and made its enemies regret their actions in recent conflicts, he warned that in the event of future aggression, Iran’s next step would be to “make our adversaries miserable.”
On June 13, the Zionist regime launched an unprovoked war of aggression against Iran, targeting military, nuclear, and residential areas for 12 consecutive days. Then, on June 22, the United States attacked three Iranian nuclear facilities in Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan, escalating the conflict.
The Iranian military responded immediately and forcefully. The Revolutionary Guards Aerospace Forces carried out 22 waves of retaliatory missile strikes under Operation True Promise III, inflicting significant damage and heavy losses on cities throughout the occupied territories.
In retaliation for the US attack, Iranian forces also targeted Qatar’s al-Udeid Air Base, the largest US military installation in West Asia, with a barrage of missiles.
The conflict ended on June 24, and a ceasefire was enforced.
