Major General Abdrahim Musavi praised Islamabad’s “courageous stance” in a call with Pakistan’s Chief of Staff Asim Munier on Sunday.
According to Press TV, the top Iranian commander thanked the Pakistani people for their “bold position” in response to the Zionist regime’s unprovoked attacks on the Iranian people.
Islamabad expressed strong support for Tehran when the Israeli regime unleashed a brutal attack on the Islamic Republic on June 13, assassinating a strike targeting senior Iranian military commanders and nuclear scientists, killing ordinary citizens, including women and children.
During the 12-day attack, General Musabi said that US President Donald Trump’s administration “has not spared efforts to support the Zionist administration.”
On June 22, the US intervened by attacking three Iranian civil nuclear facilities in Isfahan, Natanz and Fordau. All of these are operated under the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
“In addition to taking part in the attack, IT (Washington) has adopted all of its capabilities to protect the regime from Iran’s missile and drone attacks,” General Musabi said.
“Along with the United States,” the military chief said, “several other Western countries also provided verbally and practical support to the enemy.”
The commander said, “Despite the losses we suffered, especially the martians of some of our senior and capable commanders at the beginning of this war, we prevented our enemy from achieving our goals until we were forced to demand a ceasefire.”
Israel unilaterally halted its attack on Iran on June 23rd. After Trump announced the ceasefire, military analysts said the Tel Aviv administration had to accept that the attack it launched would “save” itself as it exceeded its capabilities.
