“We detailed the logic of further procedures and shared our approach,” Sybiha said in X.
Sharing his vision for further peace efforts with Ukrainian President Voldimia Zelenkie’s Levio, Sibiha reaffirmed President Donald Trump’s “strongly and consistent” commitment to peace efforts and said he appreciated the US’s involvement.
“We are ready to advance cooperation in a constructive and mutually beneficial way. It is important for Russia to travel back and forth between Ukraine’s constructive steps.
“So far, it’s not. Moscow must understand that rejecting peace is a sacrifice,” he added.
The meeting was on the sidelines of an informal meeting of NATO Foreign Ministers in Antalya.
Türkiye is set to take the central stage of global diplomacy this Thursday as it prepares to hold its first direct peace talks between Russia and Ukraine in more than three years.
The first direct negotiations between the two countries since the last round held in Istanbul in March 2022, comes after years of intense fighting, military escalations and major diplomatic events that have reshaped both regional and international politics.
