Tehran – The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) has announced its lineup of platform programs for 2025, with Iranian films on the list.
Director Farnouch Samaddy’s “Wide Between Dreams and Hope” will host a world premiere at an event scheduled to take place from September 4th to 14th in Toronto, Canada, ISNA reported.
The platform, which celebrates the 10th anniversary of the festival’s auter-race section, defending the bold director’s vision and distinctive storytelling, offers a first glimpse into some of the film’s most compelling voices to audiences. This year’s edition features 10 exceptional films, representing 19 countries.
Fanouche Samaddy, whose feature film “180° Rules” (TIFF ’20) and short film “Disappearance” (TIFF ’17), premiered at the festival, has returned in “Between Dreams and Hopes.”
In this bold love story, Azad, Transman and Nora are two young lovers who switch between social and family traditions and modernity. Together, they face Azad’s estranged father and travel to a remote Iranian village to obtain documents that allow the pair to live a real life.
The cast includes Fereshteh Hosseini, Sadaf Asgari, Hooman Rahnemoon, Amirreza Ranjbaran, Amirreza Jokar and more.
