Amin Tarfa, Director of International Affairs at the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development, spoke on Tuesday at the opening of the 16th Iran-Azerbaijan Republic Joint Economic Commission meeting.
He estimated that the trade volume between Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2024 will be $580 million, representing a 20% increase compared to the same period last year.
According to Tarfa, the amount of trade between Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2023 was approximately $480 million.
He stressed that Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan have high potential to expand trade in all fields, especially in the areas of transportation and infrastructure.
Elsewhere in his remarks, he referred to the operation of the Astara border bridge, stating that construction work on the “New Agband Bridge” has been completed, and construction work on the “Aras Corridor” connecting Azerbaijan and Iran by road and rail is underway. He said that there is.
