The trade turnover between Russia and Iran rose 16.2% to $4.8 billion in 2024, Russian Energy Minister Sergei Tsibiliooff said after the 18th meeting on trade and economic cooperation between Moscow and Tehran.
“Last year, trade sales reached $4.8 billion, and we believe our mutual trade potential is much greater,” he said.
Iran’s oil minister Mohsen Paknejad added that thanks to the implementation of the joint agreement, the country can “support trade sales levels from $4 billion to $6 billion.”
Tsivilov emphasized that the 19th meeting of the Intergovernmental Committee on Trade and Economic Cooperation between Russia and Iran will be held in Tehran.
Previously, it was reported that by the end of 2023, trade turnover between Russia and Iran had declined compared to 2022, reaching around $4 billion.
